Sharks carefully select their members each year on strict criteria of grace and form. The annual synchronized swimming program is enthusiastically attended for three performances as the girls finally show the results of long practice. The intramural swimming meet was revived this year and competition was keen in all events. Relays, freestyles, and flutter board kick were all run off in three heats under the direction of the physical education majors. In the first picture, Liz Brokaw, Selma Hokanson, and Anne Kelso can be seen practicing a ballet leg for their part in the annual Sharks review. The three women were practicing a move in Severance pool, one leg straight up into the air. In the second photo, the second half of a relay was set to take off as the starter finishes her leg in the intramural swimming meet. She was seen diving into Severance pool as another touches the wall. The third photo shows, Joan Leasure and Margot Regen valiantly flutter kicking down the pool for the coveted crown. The two women were using kick boards to race in Severance pool. The women wore standard issue physical education department one-piece swimsuits. The administrative head at the time was Maria Sexton.
