Alpha Alexander Spikes at the Net, 1974-1975

Alpha_Alexander_Spikes_at_the_Net_19741975.jpg

This action shot shows Alpha Alexander [HOF] just after she had spiked the ball over the net. Cindy Sprau No. 18 was set to defend, preparing for the next play. The opponents on the other side of the net were attempting to block the spike. This photo is part of a photo collage of fall sports that opened the section on Men's and Women's Fall Sports. The Wooster players were wearing numbered crew necked tops with a black stripe tracing the bottom of the sleeve. They were wearing black kilts, long white socks, and Adidas athletic shoes. They may be the only volleyball team to ever wear kilts. The administrative head at the time was Nichols Nan.
