Natural Dancing, 1932-33

Natural_Dancing_193233.jpg

The image above shows women natural dancing on the newly finished floor of Athenia, which had many followers this year. Numerous dances, of which the pose pictured is characteristic, added to the interest manifested by the girls of the three classes. Tap dancing also attracted many students. This appears to be modern dance and is possibly the beginnings of Orchesis. Six women are pictures in classic poses in long sleeveless robes. The administrative head at the time was Kathleen Lowrie.
