Women's Athletics, The Coaches, 1929-1930

Womens_Athletics_The_Coaches_19291930.jpg

The image above is captioned Women's Athletics, The Coaches. It depicts Miss Kathleen Lowrie, Head of Wooster's Athletic Department for Women, seems to possess all the requirements for one to have in such a responsible position and also other traits that make her one of the most popular instructors on the hill. Her duties, in organizing the well-rounded program offered and in introducing new methods of physical development, are shared by Miss Dorothy Dillon and Miss Myrtel Ross. A coach of basketball, hockey, baseball and volleyball, Miss Dillon has a full day. The girls appreciate her worth and admire her ability. A comparatively new member of the staff is Miss Ross, a Wooster graduate, whose task is confined to instructing would-be life savers. Their work brings them in close contact with all of the girls and their friendship as well as training has meant a great deal to each one. These photos of all three women, also appear in the faculty section. The women are seen dressed professionally. The administrative head at the time was Kathleen Lowrie.
