The image above is captioned "Juniors Win Swim Marathon." Womens swimming program featured marathon competition between the classes. Whenever a girl swam a lap, it was added to her class total. The junior class won with 15.6 miles, trailed by the seniors with 13.9. In addition to regularly scheduled swimming class, girls used the pool Monday and Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings. The picture shows Wooster-style mermaids Laura Dengler and Jean King not quite ready to test the water. Jane McAfee and Lou Ann DeVoss find it a bit cool.
