The image above is of the 1980-81 Women’s Track Team. The team photo has the captions identifying individuals. The women are wearing singlets with Wooster on the front and matching shorts. In other photos, they are wearing Wooster Scotties Track t-shirts. "At the end of the season, the College of Wooster Women’s Track team emerged as a runner-up in the All-Ohio Division III meet, losing the title to Ohio Wesleyan by 22 points. Lynette Seigly broke a school record with her discus toss of 121.4.” The 400-meter relay team of Robin Mayo, Charlene Kemp, Darlene Kemp, and Pam Willis dominated the sprint events throughout the season and earned a spot at the National AIAW meet at the University of California and ran 400 meters in just 48.5 seconds. "I can say enough,” stated Coach Craig Penny. “This is the first time I’ve coached All-Americans." For a team finishing its first season as a varsity sport, the Women’s Track squad proved its potential to be a powerhouse. The NCAC did not exist yet and NCAA did not yet include women's sports. The administrative head at the time was Nan Nichols.
