"At the end of the season, the College of Wooster Women’s Track team emerged as a runner-up in the All-Ohio Division III meet, losing the title to Ohio Wesleyan by 22 points. Lynette Seigly broke a school record with her discus toss of 121.4.” The 400-meter relay team of Robin Mayo, Charlene Kemp, Darlene Kemp, and Pam Willis dominated the sprint events throughout the season and earned a spot at the National AIAW meet at the University of California and ran 400 meters in just 48.5 seconds. For a team finishing its first season as a varsity sport, the Women’s Track squad proved its potential to be a powerhouse. The NCAC did not exist yet and NCAA did not yet include women's sports.
