Varsity Field Hockey Action Shot, Linda Fullhart, 1971

p15963coll21_1235.jpg

The image above is an action shot of Virginia Hunt officiating a Wooster field hockey game while senior captain Linda Fullhart (1972) is about to strike the ball. Hunt, a "W" Association Hall of Fame inductee, was the first varsity field hockey coach at Wooster. She was officiating her team's own game, most likely due to either lack of available officials or lack of funding to pay for officials. Budgets were very tight for the women's teams and the pool of women available who could officiate the sport in Ohio was very small. Linda Fullhart (1972) is wearing a McLeod plaid kilt and white shirt, while her opponent has on a tunic and white shirt. Virginia Hunt was wearing a plaid kilt with a sweater. The administrative heads at the time was Virginia Hunt.
