Miss Lowrie, 1926-1927

p15963coll21_1353.jpg

This full-length photo of Kathleen Lowrie is featured on a page for the Big Six Board. With Miss Lowrie as head of the department and Miss Sperry as her able assistant, the Women's Athletics Department had made rapid strides in the past few years. Combining a thorough knowledge if each sport with a charming personality, these co-workers had won the hearts of every girl at Wooster. Who has not heard of Miss Lowrie's dancing classes and has not marveled at her skill in handling the Color Day dances? Under her tutelage, many had been taught the art of life-saving and through persistent efforts had won their red cross emblems. What basketball floor or hockey field would be perfect without Miss Sperry? To these two instructors, everyone gave three hearty cheers and hope they would always stay with them. She was dressed in a top with a coat, and a skirt to her knees. She also had on hose or stockings. The administrative head at the time was Kathleen Lowrie.
