The photo above is of the Women's Sports Association Cabin during the winter, with several women outside near the wood pile. The cabin had a large chimney and three windows on the side. There was a door at the end and another window. The windows had covers that go across them. This had been a long time project for the Association.
"Located about five miles west of town is the cabin built by the Women's Athletic Association in 1935 from a four-year accumulation of funds. It is a symbol of planning and traditional Scotch thrift. The big fireplace has glowed on many a happy weekend group of girls who seek revival of spirits in the out-of-doors." p. 140. The administrative head at the time was Kathleen Lowrie.
