This is a photograph of girls swimming in Severance Gym Pool, 1918-19. The index notes the enthusiasm of the girls this year for swimming and that two meets were held during the year [noted in the Calendar on Feb 3 and April 24]. Four swimming managers are pictured in this photo in the Index. In the image, the swimmers appear to be wearing long bodied swim suits without sleeves. Legs fall to about knee length. Most have swim caps on. The Administrative Head at the time was Ruth Hunt Conrow.
