The image above is a photo of Girls' Gymnasium Aides preparing for an Exhibition. The women are in lines executing group synchronized movements of either calisthenics or Swedish Gymnastics. They are wearing sailor tops with scarfs, bloomers, long stockings, and athletic shoes, which were very typical of that era. Different color combinations of bloomers and tops may have indicated the class years of the participants. Under Physical Educators Berenice Wikoff and Emery Bauer, three exhibitions were performed each year: men, women, and combined. The administrative head was Bernice Wikoff.
